Wine & Beer in Hungary |
| |
| It is said that only France and Germany have more tradition than Hungary in Europe when it comes to wine. Wine making in Hungary has evolved over many centuries & both red and white wine is made all over Hungary, for example in Eger and Villany. Now you can also try and enjoy the best what is on offer at very affordable prices. Local champagne/bubbly is considered as unmatched value by many foreigners starting from as little as 4 euros per bottle in the supermarkets.
Local beer in Hungary is excellent and it is impossible to find any beer with less than 5% abv. What's more half a liter usually costs less than 2 euros in bars and 75 cents in the supermarkets. Local beers are also excellent and worth trying. (don't forget Hungary was part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire together with the Czechs and if there is something they learnt in those years then that is how to brew good beer!). |
